I. Rapid Review: A demonstration of all eighteen stationary sets and three stance drills that are explained in detail on the DVD. This is the portion we use for our sample clip.
II. Stance Drills. 1. Stance Drill A. 18 movements coordinating stances & footwork with blocks. 2. Stance Drill B. 18 movements coordinating stances & footwork with punches. 3. Stance Drill C. 18 movements coordinating stances and footwork with a combination of blocks, punches, and kicks. III. Stationary Sets: Each technique sequence explained in step by step detail from multiple angles. Below summarizes the sets taught and additional concepts emphasized. 1. Box Block Set. Four gates of defense (quadrant zones). Using fighting stance. 2. Punching Set. Centerline. Thrust versus snap methods. Vertical and horizontal fist orientation. Be aware of chambers and stance. 3. Basic Kicking Set. The most direct path to opponent. 4. High/Low Blocking Set. Articulated and also blended by rounding the transitions. 5. Handsword Set. Chambering options. Targets clarified. 6. Knee Set. Reinforce sense of target with free hand. 7. 1-18 Blocking Set. High and low cross-wedge block predates the power rangers. 8. Elbow Set. Application of double upward elbow revealed. Double rear elbow application also discussed. 9. Low Line Kicking Set. Attacking the lower zones (groin and knees). 10. Parry Set. Redirection with smooth and fluid actions. 11. Hammerfist Set.
